Roofing Warranties and what do they mean to you?
|
 |
|
Manufacturer's warranties contain a list of conditions that invalidate
the warranty. They exclude natural disasters and other natural events, but
primarily are invalidated through the failure of the contractor to
properly install a product, or failure of an owner to maintain or contract
for maintenance of a roof.
 | Natural disasters (lightning, hurricanes, tornadoes,
earth-quakes, fires, hail). |
 | Improper application of roof insulation, roof deck,
or any other underlying surface of material used as a base over which
the materials are applied. (We only install roofing over clean,
repaired, and properly fastened deck surfaces).
 | Damage from structural failure; settlement;
movement; distortion; warping; or buckling or cracking of roof deck,
walls or foundation. Negligence of owner to provide proper roof
maintenance (no maintenance, no warranty)
 | Failure caused by mis-application of repair
materials ( improper maintenance)
 | Infiltration or condensation of moisture in or
through underlying area caused by prolonged water intrusion (improper
maintenance).
 | Vapor condensation beneath the roof (improper maintenance)
 | Damage resulting from lack of positive, proper or
adequate drainage (improper installation or maintenance)
 | Poor installation of roof equipment and fixtures (improper
installation or additional of equipment without consideration to
roofing system requirements) |
